Zanel earned her Masters of Education (Special Education) from Flinders University (Adelaide, South Australia).
She has more than 19 years of experience, working in a variety of school settings and has gained experience in different roles in the field. She is passionate about working with students across a broad age range, from as young as 2 years old through to 16.
As an educator, Zanel strongly believes in establishing warm and respectful relationships with her students, so that they feel safe, and heard, in the learning environment. She loves creating spaces that invite exploration, and provide opportunities for students to challenge, and express themselves.
As a leader, Zanel believes in creating an environment of trust and collaboration where the team feels valued, heard, and encouraged to contribute in their unique way. She sees every individual team member’s unique strengths and helps to unlock their potential by providing support and opportunities for development and growth. More importantly, she leads by example, choosing to act in ways that reflect her values rather than simply speaking about them. Whether in challenging situations or everyday tasks, she sets a standard that others can look to and learn from.
