Senior Occupational Therapist

Vera Mok

Vera is licensed by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) in Singapore and is also a certified clinical supervisor registered with AHPC.

Experience: Vera graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh and to date has been a practising therapist specialised in paediatrics for 11 years. Her clinical expertise includes assessing and working with children of various diagnoses and developmental issues, including but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sensory Processing Disorders, Dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Developmental Delays (DD), speech and language delays; as well as learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and working memory deficits. Her experience also spans across various settings, from clinic-based therapy to mainstream and special education school programs, and from preschool ages up until secondary school level. These school-based programs have helped at-risk youths with the development of life skills, as well as students with social skill and emotional regulation difficulties in the classroom.

Vera is a strong advocate for relationship building, and believes that the bond between caregivers, healthcare professionals and the child is so valuable to the intervention process as it encourages active engagement, honest communication, and facilitates carryover of learnt skills into the natural environment of the child. She invests time to develop a therapeutic bond with each child, which is an integral factor in achieving successful therapy outcomes.

Vera has always been drawn to working with children, which inspired her to pursue helping children with special needs and learning difficulties. Her bubbly personality enables her to connect with them easily and her patience and positive attitude also enables her to work well with children of varied ages.
