Brenda is a registered Speech-Language Therapist and Clinical Supervisor with the Allied Health Professions Council in Singapore.
She has extensive experience supporting infants, children, and adults with speech, language, fluency, and swallowing needs. She began her career at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), where she gained broad clinical experience across acute and rehabilitation settings, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and adult care in neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and oncology disciplines. This has equipped her with the expertise to support a diverse range of needs, including feeding difficulties (such as fussy or selective eating), speech sound development, language delays, speech and language impairments, stuttering, and swallowing disorders.
Brenda has a special interest in paediatric feeding, early intervention and fluency. She works closely with babies and children who may experience challenges with oral-motor skills, sensory sensitivities, or limited food acceptance, as well as dysfluencies in speech. Her approach is responsive, child-led, and grounded in evidence-based practice, while always respecting each child’s pace and comfort. She understands that every child develops differently, and that seeking support can sometimes feel overwhelming. Brenda creates a gentle, reassuring environment where children feel safe to explore, learn, and grow with confidence.
She believes that parents and caregivers play a vital role in every individual’s progress and partners closely with families to provide practical strategies, guidance, and ongoing support. Her aim is to empower families to carry over skills into daily routines, fostering meaningful and lasting progress.
Brenda also works with adults experiencing speech and language difficulties, cognitive-communication challenges, fluency issues, and swallowing impairments. Her approach is thoughtful, discreet, and highly personalised, focusing on meaningful goals that enhance independence, confidence, and overall quality of life. She recognises the impact that communication and swallowing challenges can have on daily living and provides clear, practical support throughout each stage of recovery or adaptation. Known for her calm and attentive manner, Brenda creates a respectful and supportive environment where clients feel at ease and confident in the therapy process. She collaborates closely with families and other healthcare professionals where appropriate, ensuring a holistic and well-coordinated approach to care.
